love from vshdata and seraphic blue, wish theres fast foward for text and the camera be less shaky like cecil(its kinda dizzying me a bit)

oh well,we are all broken in some way

its starts pretty slow and then goes through the life of a messy devil, nothing more nothing less

gacha is bad culture

bad: some part of the game is very slow especially since i drinked coffee when playing it

good:

art is very good(insert 2000 word essay here)

the main character is written very well with a relatable past as he do his best ™ to cope with his life, and theres also a contrast character which makes the mc looks even more like a mess

i was kinda worried that he would snap at the end and do something unregretable

the gacha segment is slow in a good way

kinda wished the story showed a little more of the bright side of the character thr

i wish you great success so i can become jealous at you like Cecil.

Hello, I just played your game on steam and I have to say that honestly it was a very interesting journey into a character concept. I think you and klaus did a very good job on this and I look forward to any future endeavors you decide to work on! All the designs were well crafted and I love how your art looks and feels in the game and in general. Thanks for sharing this experience!

ngl there should be a wiki about this game, its so good!

How and why is this not being featured at the front page of itch.io this is one of the craziest pieces of art I've ever sat through.

This really blew me away, I came into to it expecting just a simple like rpg maker horror(Idk why) and was immediately grasped by how beautiful the visuals and music were, just so haunting and serene and horrifying all at once and the story is just so beyond amazing to me. Theres something so relatable about Cecil even though I'm nothing like him. Trying to live within other expectations, the craving feeling of being wanted and even the idea of living the life that makes you happy being damned of the consequences are all things I've struggled with and all of them being pieced together into this character who is so so much more than that is beautiful and terrifying. So really I just want to say thank you to the devs for making such a unique and devilish experience :)

aaa so many kind words, i appreciate them <3
i'm glad you enjoyed the game! while i am not like Cecil at all either, I feel a lot of his sentiments as well. i gotta give a lot of credit to klaus - he did a wonderful job bringing my character study concept to fruition with his way of weaving the writing together!

I love this, i really like the different gameplay style changes, and I also love Noct
Your work is always enjoyable to see, and this is was such a fun game!

thank you for playing :3 !!

I found about this game from bg64, and i have to say its GOATED. Love the writing, the switches between 3d and 2d and the art. Only thing i dont get is why you spent so much work on a combat system you use only once in the game. Otherwise its a BANGER.

I found out about this game on twitter and I was instantly blown away by its amazing art, congrats on the release! ^^ If you are interested in a Spanish localization, I would totally love to help!

Thank you for playing!!
klaus the writer, is actually fluent in spanish himself and we talked a bit about a translation (but maybe he'd like help with it)
I appreciate the kind offer! I'll keep in mind for the future

What a fascinating game with a great artistic design and a pretty interesting story.

Okay. Wow... I wasn't expecting that at all. This game blew me away. The art, the story and the characters. Especially Cecil's worldview and the general tone of the story. It made me feel so many different emotions in such a small amount of time unlike most games today. It feels like I found a hidden gem. I'll never forget this experience, thank you for that. I’m excited to see more of your work!

tysm for playing! :D

This was the first game in at least a year to make me cry. This being a dual effort between Allee and Klaus, I want to make it clear - the writing is great, but the art, gameplay and expressions drew me into the world and gave me a more well rounded understanding of who the characters were and the setting the game takes place in. It's also just nice to look at, and the 3d segments are great opportunities to have a moment of visual exploration. Every part of this game comes together to create an experience that carries a lot of emotional weight, but also doesn't shy away from being more domestic and a little silly. Without spoiling too much, I think the best way I can put it is that I appreciate that it's as much a game about the full spectrum of Cecil's adult life after suffering from pretty heavy childhood trauma as it is about that trauma itself.

thank you so much..! for playing, and for the writeup

i am glad klaus and i's combined work could craft such an experience ;w;
it's the first project i've worked on with more a focus on atmosphere and "character study narrative"

the world was fun to build with both its dark and cute/silly aspects <3

this game is so cool!

was drawn in by the graphics and was blown away in ways i cant describe after playing the game itself. something about how beautifully interwoven the 3d & 2d elements were left me stunned. something to aspire to for sure. beautiful beautiful and worth calling a piece of art!

many of the scenes made me want to draw fanart—if one were to, what tag should we use to make it most accessible to you? thank you for sharing such a wonderful game! super impressive stuff!

Thank you!! I appreciate all the kind words very much <3

It's truly an honor that it could inspire potential fanart!
I suppose you could put #EverydayDevil? But it's fine to @ me and/or klaus directly on socials so we see it! Either way is fine ^^

[copy of what i put in my rating cause i realized they are different things. hits my head on concrete]

I've been a huge fan of Allee's work for years --- Watching her style blossom into how it is today, both in it's 2D & 3D aspects, has been such an amazing treat. And this game is really a perfect encapsulation of all of her strengths! Incredibly moody, cute, silly, intense, all at the same time that really tells the highs & lows of Cecil's life and mental state. He sucks so much. But he's my favorite. Rips my shirt to reveal my 2nd "#1 Cecil Fan" shirt beneath it

I also particularly appreciate how experimental & segmented the game is, feeling like multiple very detached points that still flow into one another naturally is something that's hard to pull off yet was done perfectly here. I can tell Allee was trying a lot of new things here, and the execution was very fun! I particularly liked the shooting section.

Klaus' writing is also phenomenal, especially with Cecil's narration & inner thoughts. It feels very natural, and hits when it really needs to.

Everything about this game is amazing. Whether you've been following Allee's work for a while, or just stumbled upon this on your own, it's absolutely worth your time if you have 2-3 hours to kill.

A wonderful, wonderful work-- you for letting me experience it!

Aaaa thank you for such an in-depth response <3
The game was good practice for a lot of things, and the segmented approach made it easier to handle the workload while giving it a flavor of storytelling. Also, very fun to develop in this way!

I almost skipped this one after seeing it was made in Unreal Engine lol (cuz of how many bad games on this site were developed using this game engine), I thought there was no way this RPG/Visual Novel-looking game has file size that big, but turned out many sections in the game are in first person, which a nice change of pace, I like how cozy the grocery store looks and also like the initial apartment that Cecil is in, the cutscene that happens on the terrace is pretty nice too. While I didn't find too much interest in the gameplay, the art and atmosphere are well done, almost trippy to some sort, and while the story is quite depressing, it sticks to what it set out to be - just telling story of some random demon guy's life, no goal, no solution, no guidance, no meaning, no light even, it sure is what it is. Hope more people discover this game!

Thank you for playing!
It's nice to get a review from someone who isn't in my or klaus's circle of people-we-know, gives a bit better insight as to how we did here.

I hope to make more future projects after all!

FANTASTIC JOB ALLEE, KLAUS!!!!

What an experience. Must say it encapsulates the unbounded suffering of a meaningless life (in Cecil's own eyes) quite wonderfully. Certain moments really caught me off guard and left me wondering what had just happened.

(+1)

Nice writing, some phrases were really cool, my favorite one being the one that talks about remembering more the moment in which we lose someone we loved rather than remembering all of the time we spent together.

Very nice job all around.I love the style changes. I think that dithering was really well used for lighting in the 3d sections, the light coming through the windows was particularly such a great scene. I think you did well on the pacing and story beats, The character and set designs were really interesting. I'd definitely love to see what you make next.

Aaa thank you! It's pretty much my first time creating something like this.. but I want to do more projects like it! I appreciate you playing!
